After graduating from the University of San Francisco with a Politics degree in 2016, Zak co founded Z Shoes. In 2017 he co founded Headwater Media. He currently is Creative Director for both companies. Before founding his company, on a video project visiting the indigenous communities of Peru’s Amazon, Zak was presented a shoe made from local natural materials – rubber sourced straight from the tree along with naturally colored cotton picked from yet another local tree. Zak had dreamt up the creation of a shoe company before he had returned home.
