Pavan Turaga is a Professor and Director in the School of Arts, Media and Engineering, and the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at Arizona State University. Their research is on robust machine learning techniques for time-series, image, video, 3D, for applications in computer vision, and mobile-health. They lead the Geometric Media Lab at ASU, a highly transdisciplinary lab with work spanning applied mathematics, media-design, and computing sciences.
Title of Talk: Trends in Generative AI
In this talk we will discuss contemporary generative AI tools that are impacting creative mediums such as film, art, and animation, with empirical findings that motivate new directions for basic machine learning research using formal definitions of shape and texture.
