Fatos serves as a Senior Data & AI Solutions Architect at Microsoft, UK, where he demonstrates a strong passion for employing cutting-edge techniques and AI and ML technologies to address business and societal challenges. Prior to Microsoft, Fatos worked as Cloud Architect at Oracle. At Microsoft UK, Fatos leads the Conversational AI and Cognitive Services task force where he concentrates on assisting large enterprises in implementing AI and ML on a broad scale. He advises C-level executives, Heads of Analytics, Data Science departments, ML Leads, Chief Data Officers, and Data and AI Architects and Developers on attaining AI maturity, establishing cross-functional Data Science teams, and developing AI capabilities within Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.
Fatos has collaborated with some of the world’s largest organizations in industries such as Financial Services, Insurance, Public Sector, Media and Telecommunications, and Manufacturing. In March 2020, he received Microsoft’s Champions Award for his significant contributions to the NHS (UK’s National Health Service), where he developed the data analytics platform for the NHSX COVID-19 Test and Trace program, which played a crucial role in monitoring the spread and progression of COVID-19 across the UK. In April 2023, Fatos earned his second Champions Award for his instrumental work on introducing and defining patterns for Large Language Models adoption within the telecommunications industry using Azure Open AI.
With a specific interest in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning Operationalization (MLOps), Fatos’ work on MLOps at a prominent UK manufacturing organization contributed to the customer receiving the DevOps Industry Award in 2021 for their comprehensive MLOps architecture.
Beyond his role at Microsoft, Fatos founded and manages the Data Science Initiative meetup community in London, which boasts over 3,600 Data Scientists. This community fosters an environment for Data Scientists to convene, collaborate, and exchange knowledge through presentations, workshops, and hackathons. As an international speaker, Fatos frequently presents on subjects such as MLOps, NLP, Cognitive AI, and ML. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Data Warehouses and Business Intelligence.
